Obtaining funding to implement the project "INTERSTICE - Encounters between artists, children and educators"
On September 3, the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE) made public the favorable resolution for the execution of the project "INTERSTICE - Encounters between artists, children and educators" within the framework of the Erasmus + program of the European Union . Specifically, the INTERSTICE project will be financed from the Higher Education line, key action 2, aimed at generating strategic partnerships by 2020, with a total endowment of € 295,604.00 (Ref. 2020-1-ES01-KA203- 082989).
The project aims to influence the improvement of the training of university students developing to be teachers of Early Childhood Education and Primary Education by incorporating innovative experiences that intertwine art and education through collaborative learning between students, artists, teachers and children. These innovations promote inclusive artistic creative experiences for university students to influence the child population, especially those most vulnerable and who have fewer opportunities to experience quality proposals.
Starting from the experience and the positive results carried out in different educational and cultural partner institutions, it is intended to expand this model of innovation in the different European countries that participate in it. The results of the project include different products and pedagogical materials that will facilitate the training and implementation of experiences for university students so that they, in turn, can train teachers and other education professionals together with artists, in order to include the art of integrated form in the university and other educational and cultural institutions.
General objectives:
- To improve the level of aptitudes and competences of the students of the degree of infantile and primary education of the universities of the consortium, training them in the development of quality aesthetic practices in the context of childhood.
- Bringing quality contemporary art permanently to nursery and primary schools, improving creativity and critical thinking in children.
- Promote opportunities for participation in cultural experiences, reducing inequalities in their access following three principles: interaction, participation and democracy in educational contexts.
During the project, each partner institution will train the rest of the project participants in their area of expertise: the performing arts and the visual arts in different educational stages, both at the infant level (0-3 and 3-6 years), and at primary level. (6-12 years). The professionals involved in the training will be in charge of training university students so that they, in turn, can train teachers from educational centers through the peer learning methodology.
INTERSTICE will be coordinated by Professor Gemma Paris (CRiEDO-UAB) and Silvia Blanch (ERIFE-UAB), and will have the participation of researchers and educational technicians from: Universitetet I Stavanger (Norway), Bath Spa University (UK), Universita 'di Bologna (Italy) and Associació Rialles Espectacles Infantils i Juvenils (Espanya).
