On May 25th, the artist Rosa Llop directed one of the last sessions of the training course developed in the Interstice project.

This experiential session was held at the Josep Maria de Sagarra Primary School (Barcelona), where children, students and teachers from the UAB were able to think together, through a co-creation process, about the contribution of artistic practices to the role of educators, and the role of art in fostering critical thinking in adults and children.

Rosa Llop is already collaborating with this school where she is a resident artist within the Espai C project. In this training, some thirty UAB Infant and Primary Education students were able to get to know this project experientially; being the protagonists of this approach to artistic education promoted by the INTERSTICE project, where the borders between art and education, schools, universities, cultural centers, etc. are blurred.

During this session with the students, they were asked to co-create a collage, in total silence. In this way, they had the opportunity to experience the contribution of non-discursive languages to educational practice. They expressed that they could agree and disagree with others, from the point of view of respect; they were able to understand the peculiarities of collective work, although the final result may be different from what they personally expected; and they could express insecurities about their own abilities.
