Internship of 10 professors from universities in Panama

For two weeks this April, a group of 10 teachers of Panama, mainly from the National University of Chiriquí (UNACHI) and the University of Panama, will visit the Autonomous University of Barcelona for training and guidance on the Teaching of Sciences and Mathematics. The program is part of the collaborative activities which has been going one for several years between Organizational Development Team and the National Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Republic of Panama.

The internship program includes visits to centers specializing in science education, such as the “Center of Resources for Teaching and Learning of Mathematics - CREAMAT “ and “ Documentation Center of Science and Experimentation – CDEC”, in addition to tutoring and counseling sessions with UAB scholars with extensive academic and professional experience. The participation of teachers in teaching activities of the university has also been arranged, with the objective of observing directly how to develop the training of teachers in their subjects in the context of the UAB.

The event, funded by Senacyt, an autonomous institution in Republic of Panama, is part of a set of projects and programs that aim to strengthen, support, influencing and promoting the development of science, technology and innovation with  purpose of raising the level of productivity, competitiveness and modernization in the private sector, government, academic-research sector, and the general population.
