On November 27, the International Forum of Education and Technology 2020 was held, this year, in its online mode. Under the theme "The Teaching Digital Competence and the professional development of teachers: training, evaluation and certification", this 7th edition of FIET had the participation of teachers from all over.

The day began with a scientific forum restricted to the research groups that belong to FIET. The round table, moderated by Dr. Juan González from the Universitat de Girona and Dr. Cristina Mercader, from CRiEDO of UAB, counted with the participation of Dr. Mar Camacho (General Director of Innovation, Research and Digital Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya), Mr. Carlos Javier Medina (Director of the National Institute of Educational Technologies and Teacher Training -INTEF), Dr. Carmen Fernández Morante (President of the National Conference of Deans of the Faculties of Education) and Dr. Jaume Ametller (Coordinator of the Program for Improvement and Innovation in Initial Teacher Training -MIF- of the Generalitat de Catalunya). The speakers discussed the current challenges on the development of digital teaching competence in preservice teachers and in the continuous training of in-service teachers.

In the open session in the afternoon, two interventions were made. The first was a panel of experts entitled "Strategies for the incorporation of the CDD in the professional profile of teachers", moderated by Dr. Jaume Ametller and with the participation of Ms. Marta Reina Herrera (Head of the Open Training Service and Digital Educational Competence of the National Institute of Educational Technologies and Teacher Training -INTEF), Dr. Roser Cussó Calabuig (Head of the Digital Culture area of the Generalitat de Catalunya) and Mr. Jordi Rondon Cuixart (Secretary of the School Council of Catalonia). The second part of the afternoon consisted of a dialogue moderated by Dr. Miquel Àngel Prats, from URL-Blanquerna, entitled "The development of the digital competence of teachers: an urgent question", with the interventions of Dr. Juanmi Muñoz (Co-director of the Observatory of Technological and Educational Innovation) and Dr. Carmen Fernández Morante.

The FIET is organized in a collaborative way with the financial support of an agreement between the universities: Universitat Ramon Llull Blanquerna, Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat d’Andorra, Universitat de Girona, Universitat de Lleida, Universitat de Vic, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, Universitat Rovira i Virgili and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
