Evaluation of learning in virtual environments

Several members of the EDO Group have participated in the creation of this tool in order to help teachers in the evaluation of learning in virtual environments.
The Covidien-19 Crisis demands from the universities educational responses that consider exceptionality and are differentiated according to the environment and the student body, emphasizing the need and importance of evaluation as a determining element for the improvement of learning. But, in the current situation, how to evaluate student learning? What evaluation practices must be articulated in virtual environments? Etc. are some of the questions that arise. There is no doubt about the convenience of developing an evaluation oriented towards improving learning.
In this direction, professors Georgeta Ion, Cristina Mercader and professor José Luis Muñoz, from the Department of Applied Pedagogy (Faculty of Education Sciences of the UAB), have created an educational resource that provides guidelines for the adaptation of evaluative practices of learning in virtual environments. The tool is especially interesting for teachers as it offers valid ideas to carry out an online assessment in a time that the student remains confined to their homes.
In particular, this educational resource, with open and free access for the entire university community, addresses issues such as: the principles of an effective assessment in virtual environments, the transformation of face-to-face exams to online exams, academic activities with different phases and feedback , peer evaluation, self-evaluation, and academic integrity and security of the evaluation. However, it integrates the characterization of up to eight digital instruments for evaluation in order to obtain better teaching performance.

The initiative of Doctoras Ion y Mercader and Doctor Muñoz is part of a review of the specialized literature on the subject and of the results of three innovation and research projects in development: Self-evaluation strategies for self-regulation of learning and teacher professional development (2017ARMIF0000), Improve the individualized evaluation of group projects through peer evaluation strategies and feedback (UAB Office of Teaching Quality) and CODIDOE Reflection on the digital competence of teachers and their importance for teacher training the Infant and Primary Education Degrees (Faculty of Education of the UAB).
