EDO at the XXVII “Aprendo” Congress

Professor Mireia Tintoré, member of the EDO-UIC group, gave the Inaugural Conference of the XXVII International Education Congress “Aprendo”, which is held annually in the Dominican Republic organized by EDUCA, Business Action for Education.

The title of her conference was: “The Power of the Union: Family Leadership for Educational Success.” This conference reflects the work carried out for more than six years by the European Society and Education Foundation to implement, at a national and international level, a management training program called the LEI Program – Leadership for the Comprehensive Education of students in vulnerable schools. Specifically, the conference focuses on the need to strengthen the family-school binomial for the development of comprehensive leadership.

The International Education Congress Aprendo is the most important activity carried out by EDUCA each year to guide educational policies and update the public agenda on education. It has been taking place uninterruptedly for 26 years, becoming the event with the highest incidence in its area in the Dominican Republic and the Latin American and Caribbean region.

In 2023, Aprendo celebrates its twenty-seventh edition under the motto “Professional Teachers, Committed Families”, reinventing itself with a hybrid format, adapting to the challenges of our time, always counting on the participation of recognized national and international professionals.

In the in-person chapter of the Congress, more than 500 teachers, and more than 300 fathers, mothers and guardians will meet, who have been selected and invited to participate in the collective reflection plenaries. Together they will work on the proposed thematic axes and set the course for the educational future of the Dominican Republic, to enhance the family-school binomial.
