Diego Castro elected as the new Director of the Department of Applied Pedagogy at the UAB.

The Department of Applied Pedagogy is made up of two departmental units related to the areas of knowledge: 1. Didactics and School Organization and, 2. Research Methods and Diagnosis in Education. The teaching staff of this department teaches mostly in the Faculty of Education Sciences in the bachelor's and master's degrees, in the Faculty of Letters, Faculty of Psychology and Faculty of Law. The main lines of research are related to the fields of occupational training, teacher training, compulsory education students at academic risk, educational organization, the development of educational organizations, change management in universities and educational organizations. training, school guidance, education and road safety, information technology and multimedia applied to education and institutional evaluation and evaluation of teaching teams.

Currently, the teaching staff of Applied Pedagogy coordinates and participates in numerous competitive projects at an International, European, State and Autonomous Community level. Likewise, it has numerous agreements with educational institutions and third-sector entities with which it carries out numerous knowledge transfer actions.

Professor Diego Castro (Barcelona 1972) has a diploma in Social Education and a degree in Pedagogy. Master in Human Resources Management and Doctor in Educational Sciences (Extraordinary award in 2006). Since October 1998 he has been a professor in the Area of ​​Didactics and Educational Organization of the Department of Applied Pedagogy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His main lines of research focus on the study of higher education contexts, especially university governance, innovation and change processes, and the professional development of academics. Likewise, he has developed an intense line of work in the field of non-formal education and social education organizations. He has numerous publications and his academic activity is linked to many different international institutions in Europe and Latin America.
