Defense of the projects of the Master in Psycho-pedagogical Intervention

The defense of Master's Project Educational Psycho-pedagogical Intervention and Counseling for Professionals takes place in the hall of degrees of the Faculty of Education of UAB today.

The master, which is coordinated by EDO in collaboration with the Higher Institute of Psychological Studies (ISEP) and the Aragoness  Association of Psycho-pedagogy, now is in its third edition with presented papers relevant to the issue of the academic year 2010-2011.

The board of examiners , which consists  one representative from each of the organizers, will evaluate a total of 9 students who have submitted papers about the following themes:

- Asperger Syndrome.  A different perspective.
- Truancy in secondary compulsory education: analysis of the situation and proposal of intervention.
- Professional and family consultancy  and coordination for  disability.
- Difficulties in reading and writing: diagnosis and intervention.
- Labour guidance for people with intellectual disabilities.
- Orientation of families from the parents´ library.
- School: organization and diversity.
- Psycho-pedagogical intervention for students with intellectual over- endowment.
- Design of a  guidance material.

The Master's program has a format and content without precedent in Spain or in the Latin American context. Existing proposals focus on educational psychology (UAB, ISEP, etc..), professional guidance (UCLMP) and educational guidance (UAH), all very general; on the other hand, some more specific proposals are fairly focused on concrete issues (e.g. Conflicts: family and educational mediation, from the UOC).

The proposal differs from the above three issues which are considered important to address all psycho-pedagogical  intervention professionals (hence the blended format), to enter professional practice (which justifies collaboration with professional associations) and to emphasize the institution as a framework for action and intervention (relating to the work of the psycho-pedagogue and other professionals in education and training).
