1st Kabua Contest 2015

Next 25th of April takes place the Award Ceremony of the 1st Kabua Contest 2015 “Youths for Changing the World”.
KABUA contest is an initiative of ERDISC research group from UAB, directed by PhD. Miguel Àngel Essomba and coordinated by Katia Pozos and Josep Guardiola Salinas, with the collaboration of the Directorate General of Youth, Main Goal Inclusion, and the Foundation of Football Club Barcelona (FCB).
This initiative is in the context of Social Action Platform KABUA, which was born in order to offer some tools to the teens and youth for being able to make proposals that could change their immediate reality. Through KABUA’s Platform we hope that the youth could not only express their opinions about different current topics or problems using ICT tools, but also being able to act in a critical way.
Because of this, the main purpose of the contest is to give an award to the best video for youths with a proposal, decry and/or awareness about social relevant topics in our society such as:
- How to fight again the poverty.
- How to improve the children’s rights.
- How to eradicate violence.
- How to reduce the discrimination against the disabled people.
After getting almost 70 videos from youth students around all Catalonia, with the active participation of 500 youths and 39 educational institutions, “esplais” and associations, next Saturday 25th of April at 11 o’clock the award ceremony will take place at the seat of the Directorate General of Youth of Catalonia, located in Calabria street, 147 in Barcelona. This act will count on the presence of General Director of Youth and other prominent personalities.
