This contribution focuses, in this context, on the external institutional evaluation (linked or not to the internal self-evaluation) and, therefore, primarily considers the way in which the educational centers are evaluated as a whole and not so much the aspects ( evaluation of the management, of the teachers, of the programs, etc. The emphasis is also to know the organization and development of the evaluation system ways of understanding and promoting institutional evaluation in their educational centers. Their contributions, which must be contextualized in the educational particularities of their countries (already presented in previous RedAGE reports), present the general and normative aspects of the evaluation, the ways in which it is organized, the institutional effects they have and some reflections, challenges and proposals for improvement. Its orientation is clearly practical and is linked to the annual meeting that RedAGE holds on the 16th and 17th of May 2016 in the city of Leiria (Portugal). There, the representatives of the member organizations selected the topic for their current interest (with a clear link to the improvement of educational systems and institutional accreditation), agreed on the structure of the contributions and made an exchange of possible ideas on the subject. The fundamental purpose of the RedAGE is covered in this way and as in previous times, as it is to encourage the exchange of experiences, the promotion of knowledge on educational administration and management and reflection on the practice of management. The ultimate purpose remains to improve the functioning of educational centers (and, through them, educational systems), ensuring that they are of quality and an instrument for professional and social change.
