L’abandonament dels estudiants a les universitats catalanes

The publication reflects the development of a study that addresses the analysis of the dropout of students from the public universities of Catalonia, specifically those who will begin their studies in the 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 academic years. Per fer-ho, it is necessary to combine theoretical reviews with field studies, while providing references, strategies and instruments for the intervention. It deals with the issue of abandonment which, while not being a new problem, acquires important dimensions with the desired expansion of access to higher education. The problem of abandonment is clearly identified and actions are suggested based on monitoring the opinions of the protagonists who are part of the phenomenon. In this way, various proposals are presented mainly aimed at those involved in the formative processes, still responsible for the system, the universities or the centers, also with the aim of raising awareness among the teaching community, who can be part of the solution to the problem. . The developed contribution supposes a first approach to the abandonment of university students, in which it attempts to create a space for reflection and action, if it is considered that it can be a way to promote canvis the university programs and the mechanisms d’orientation and support to the student.
