Internalización de la Educación en Iberoamérica: reflexiones y proyecciones

The internationalization of education is already, at this time, a reality that has become a necessity.
This is a statement widely shared by the international educational community, even more so by the heads and representatives of higher education institutions, perhaps, if possible, with greater insistence in the Ibero-American sphere.
What does this need and urgency correspond to? Firstly, as stated by some of the authors whose contributions are part of this text, as a consequence of the economic and commercial globalization that our region is experiencing: an economy that still remains a prisoner, to a large extent, of commodities, or rather of the “curse of commodities”, which contribute significant income from the sale of raw materials whose prices it does not control, a circumstance that causes it to suffer cyclical crises, an economy that seeks a better and more future in knowledge and the development of skills stable for all, thereby overcoming its low levels of competitiveness; an objective that to date has barely been able to be achieved due to the primary, tactical and weak mechanism of providing low-skilled and cheap labor. The maquilas do not represent our future.
The horizon is hopeful, the reality not so much due to the multiplication of higher education institutions suffered by the region, which has become a world leader in this unbridled growth that occurs together with the scarcity of regulatory standards and approval.
A scenario in which internationalization will become a regulatory and qualifying component. A goal in which we will spare no effort.
