Desarrollo educativo al servicio del desarrollo social

The publication contains the contributions and work carried out on the occasion of the “Project for educational support and strengthening in management and professional teaching skills”, promoted by several institutions, coordinated by the Organizational Development Team (EDO) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona; and subsidized by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
The purpose of the project, in which the contributions of the publication are framed, is to build a network of cooperation and support with and between the educational centers dependent on the municipality of Coyhaique (Chile), to promote educational improvement and with it the social and cultural development of the territory. The theme is linked to the work promoting development and leadership that universities must carry out in their reference context; in addition, to enhance the role and commitment of the teaching staff in these processes.
During the two and a half years since the project was launched, the work carried out in 12 schools under the Education Department of the municipality of Coyhaique has been intense due to the number of actions and activities carried out, fruitful in relation to the process of developing inter-university collaboration between the University of Talca and the Autonomous University of Barcelona and very satisfactory in relation to the processes initiated and the indicators of success already achieved.
The contribution includes reflections on the subject and achievements of the twelve centres. The ultimate aim is to improve the capacity of the centres to promote changes that make it possible to increase their educational quality and, indirectly, improve social development based on a better qualification of their human resources and a greater social involvement of the promoters of the same.
