The Organizational Development Team (EDO), part of the Centre for Research and Studies on Organizational Development (CRiEDO) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, has been developing since 2003 a line of research on the processes of knowledge creation and management (KCM) in educational and training organisations. This line of work, funded by various ministries and agreements with public and private institutions, has focused since 2007 on the analysis of communities of practice, informal workplace learning, and collaborative processes for professional and institutional development.
Committed to knowledge transfer, the group has organised specific seminars since 2003 and, since 2010, the EDO International Congress (CIEDO), which has become a national and international benchmark through its periodic editions. The 7th EDO International Congress (2023), under the theme “Learning and Collective Intelligence in Organisations after the Pandemic,” reflects on the lessons learned from the health crisis and the organisational changes it has generated, addressing collective knowledge and its application in learning models and practices.
The objectives of the congress include analysing new KCM strategies and learning cultures, exchanging research and best practices, assessing innovative formats, promoting collaboration between universities, public administration and the private sector, and strengthening the key role of people in organisational and social development. The thematic areas encompass methodologies for managing collective knowledge, social and collaborative learning, talent management, corporate networks, and leadership roles in emerging scenarios.
The event brings together conferences, symposia, communications, posters, workshops and thematic conversations, offering high-quality and up-to-date contributions. It also examines innovative proposals such as knowledge fairs, the use of big data, content curators, and learning ecosystems.
Ultimately, the congress constitutes a consolidated scientific space that responds to the challenges of organisational learning in a context of change, providing useful knowledge to managers, trainers and professionals.
