Based on this doctoral thesis, we aim to contribute to the strengthening of the intercultural dimension in community-based leisure education organizations, starting from identifying the conditions that today favor or hinder the development of interculturality . By community-based leisure education we refer to entities with a long educational history in Catalonia, from a base of educational work with and for the community. Specifically, we have considered and prepared an intentional sample from 2 open centers, 2 open spaces and 2 listening groups in multicultural contexts. A total of 31 semi-structured interviews were carried out, broken down as follows: 12 with educators, 11 with young people and 8 with families. We have also held a discussion group with educational representation from each of the organizations, and a discussion group for educational experts. Also, we have combined it with analysis of documents provided by the organizations. As a result of the critical analysis of the discourse, 42 results are provided that we structure according to their nature: organizational context, diversity variables, educational context and impact of interculturality. Afterwards, we present 13 conclusions in the same areas, and we relate them based on a model of organizational change, in favorable or unfavorable conditions for interculturality. Among other aspects, the conclusions highlight the importance of promoting training processes in interculturality according to some specific contents that incorporate gender, the different visions of interculturality or tools for the promotion of measures of attention to diversity. Finally, we present a proposal for an instrument that focuses on the diagnosis of interculturality from the perspective of its organizational development. In it, we identify different indicators that, from different areas, place the educational organization in potentially 4 scenarios in relation to interculturality: reactive, proactive, expressive and expansive.
