Spanish universities are immersed in processes of change derived both from the implantation of the LOU and from such events as the Bologna Declaration and the order on official universities contained in BOE no. 2063 (Tuesday October 30, 2007). The new organization of university education thus responds not only to a structural change but also to changes in teaching methodologies, whose objectives are now focused on the students’ learning processes, in a context that is now extended across a lifelong basis.

This new perspective has a major effect on evaluation systems, and demands the classification of:

  • Skills that are sought by each subject/module and Degree
  • Methodological strategies that can be used to achieve the objectives established in each case.
  • Skills evaluation systems that are contained in the curricula respective to each case.

The strategic objective is basically focussed on the alignment of these three elements: skills, methodological strategies and evaluation system, understanding alignment to be the establishment of both a technical and pedagogic technique.

The general objectives of the project being presented are:

  • To understand the practices and experiences undertaken in Engineering courses both at national and international universities.
  • To foster alignment between the methodological strategies proposed for curricula with those of skills evaluation systems (and therefore the proposed skills).

The final products to be obtained can be summarised as follows:

  • Improve coherence between contents, skills, methodological strategy and evaluation systems observed in the different ICT Engineering courses analysed.
  • Guarantee of coherence between education plans and therefore in the curricula of ICT Engineering courses.
  • Guarantee of skills development among our students – future OCT professionals educated in the Spanish university system – as well as the systems for the evaluation of the same.
  • Provision of strategies that facilitate the adaptation of new Degrees in the field of Engineering to the directives of the EHEA.
  • Fostering of a collaborative and cooperative work culture among teaching staff.
  • Better coordination of education.
  • Systematization of processes for guaranteeing the quality of our courses.
  • Achievement of a series of good practices and successful experiences, fundamentally on a methodological and evaluation level, in the field of ICT Engineering on both a national and international level.
