UAB, Among the Best Universities in the World

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) has climbed to the 130th position worldwide in the tenth edition of the Best Global Universities (BGU) ranking, published by U.S. News & World Report. At the European level, it ranks 46th and is the second-best university in Spain, only surpassed by the University of Barcelona (UB).

UAB stands out in several research indicators, such as:

  • Research reputation in Europe (27th)
  • Articles in the top 1% most cited (138th)
  • Total citations (144th)
  • Publications in the top 10% (145th)
  • Total number of publications (147th)
  • Global research reputation (183rd)

In the scientific disciplines ranking, UAB appears in 39 of the 51 analyzed areas and is particularly notable in Education, where it ranks as the 99th best university in the world.

In the national context, the global ranking includes 59 Spanish universities, with UB (82nd) leading, followed by UAB (130th), the University of Valencia (261st), Pompeu Fabra University (276th), and the Autonomous University of Madrid (281st).

The BGU ranking analyzes 2,250 higher education institutions from over 100 countries, based on 13 indicators measuring academic and research performance, as well as scientific reputation at regional and global levels. The top five universities in this edition are: Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Oxford, and Cambridge.
