Josep Blàzquez Miret defenses his doctoral thesis: “The Centaur method as a training program of intervention”.
The PhD candidate Josep Blázquez Miret has defended his dissertation “The physical activity with horses as a therapy for improving the functional capacity and the quality of life of elderly people and those who suffered from fibromyalgia: The Centaur method as a training program of intervention”, directed by PhD Isabel del Arco, University of Lleida and PhD Joaquín Gairín, Autonomous University of Barcelona, in the framework of the Doctoral Studies in Education (R.D. 1393/2007).
The defense act has taken place last 18th of June of 2015 at 11 o’clock, in the Grade Room of the Faculty of Science Education; the Dissertation Committee was composed by PhD Carme Armengol as the presiding judge, PhD Ferran Pifarré (FUB) as the first member, and PhD Antoni Planes (UdL) as the secretary.
Among the more significant results of the research, it is needed to highlight the importance of the program developed for improving the quality of life of the people who have participated, the improvement of the hand-visual coordination and the performance of the test with both hands at the same time, as well as the improvement of the levels of overcoming depression. Related to the psychological variables linked to tension and anxiety, it has been corroborated a significant diminution of both factors in the pretest phase and the posttest as well.
