The European project “Other spaces. Encounters between artists, students and teachers for sustainable futures” presents its website, a space to stay up to date with all the latest news, activities, and project results.
The project is co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme (Cooperation partnerships in higher education -KA220-HED) and is coordinated by Professors Gemma París and Sílvia Blanch Gelabert from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, with the participation of Museu Tàpies, laSala, the University of Iceland, and the West University of Timișoara.
The project promotes innovative and inclusive education by integrating artistic practices into teacher education degree programmes through a co-teaching model with artists in residence. A transnational network of at least 25 educators, cultural institutions, artists, and researchers will be created to co-design intercultural learning experiences focused on STEAM, active methodologies, and diverse or vulnerable educational contexts.
The project will incorporate arts-based practices into higher education through artist-in-residence programmes, hands-on learning experiences for more than 200 students, joint workshops, digital resources, co-creation labs, interdisciplinary courses, and school visits in vulnerable communities in Catalonia, Romania, and Iceland.
