Renata Marciniak, EDO – UAB collaborator, ends a three months research stay in the Open and Distance University of Mexico.
PhD Renata Marciniak, EDO – UAB collaborator, ends a three months research stay in the Open and Distance University of Mexico (UnADM). The stay had as a main goal recovering data and studies for the research related with her doctoral thesis named “Self-Assessment of Virtual University Education Programs”, acting like a responsible researcher of her stay Francisco Cervantes Pérez, University Rector of UnADM.
During her stay, Marciniak focused her efforts and reflections in analysing the process of self-assessment and assurance of quality of UnADM and applying in it a quality self-assessment system of study programs designed by Marcinak herself for virtual university education. Likewise, she carried out a bibliographical and documental analysis of virtual education in Mexico and Latin America, emphasizing models, criteria and indicators developed for self-assessing of this evaluation. Also, she developed a panoramic study about experiences in Mexican universities about self-evaluation of quality in virtual education.
Simultaneously to this research developed, Marciniak taught a number of keynote speeches invited by different Universities of Mexico city, as well as the Pan-American University Campus Guadalajara. Among these conferences are “Self-assessment as a tool for Improving Distance Higher Education. Good practices”, “Digital teacher competencies for changing strategies in instruction”, “University teacher competencies in digital era. European experiences” and a seminar called “Writing scientific articles: How to write effectively and publish efficiently”, giving a session for teachers and researchers and another for tertiary students.
In addition to these activities mentioned, between 30th of November and 4th of December, PhD Renata Marciniak attended XXIII Encuentro Internacional de Educación a Distancia: Tendencias, Innovación y Desafíos”, which took place in Guadalajara, Mexico. During this meeting, Marciniak taught a Conference called “Virtual Higher Education in Poland: Conditions of its organization, operation and assessment”.
