RedAGE 2023 report published

The Educational Management Support Network (RedAGE) has published online the report “The participation of different actors in educational management in Latin America.”

The report focuses on the importance of the active participation of different educational actors in educational management to fulfill the social mandate of training people who can live in democratic societies. Furthermore, participation is positive because it facilitates the coexistence of people with different perspectives and interests, allows better decisions, helps to share responsibilities, favors the social control of organizations and can help build new and inclusive realities. The report considers both formalized and non-formalized and spontaneous participation processes, as long as they facilitate the involvement of people in the functioning and improvement of organizations. The processes of internal and external participation in educational centers are also considered, as well as the regulations and experiences that may occur at the level of the educational system.

The report compiles the work of 44 specialists from 15 Ibero-American countries who contribute their studies and assessments on the subject, considered a relevant and permanently topical topic, in the educational centers of this region. The ultimate goal is to provide society, those responsible for educational systems and educational centers with a detailed report on existing educational actions and their results. The theme and structure of the report was debated and approved at the annual meeting held in the city of Ibagué (Colombia), on June 10, 2023, where some of the problems and challenges linked to the chosen theme were also analyzed. The coordination of the preparation of the report has been in charge of Joaquín Gairín and Marisol Galdames Calderón, both members of EDO-UAB.
