Presentation of results of the BIObec project

In August, the UAB team of the BIObec project presented a part of its results during the 10th Ibero-American Congress of Pedagogy in Mexico City.

Aleix Barrera Corominas and Joaquín Gairín Sallán from the Autonomous University of Barcelona took the stage as speakers at the 10th Ibero-American Congress of Pedagogy organized by the Universidad Iberoamericana and the Spanish Society of Pedagogy. They made a presentation entitled “Reflections on the BioBEC Project: Certifying Training for Europe’s Bio-Industrial Professionals”. The work presented the insights shared by professionals in the sector regarding how the certification of training provided outside formal pathways should be structured. BIObec aims to create links between bioindustry and the education system by interconnecting universities, innovation laboratories and R&D centers with industrial agents and regions. To this end, the project proposes a holistic framework that combines the traditional idea of an educational center with that of a knowledge center. This event aimed to explore the best ways to confirm the skills of professionals leading innovation and growth in the bio-industrial field.
