PeruChamps

On 7^th of January, Dr. Joaquín Gairín, director of EDO-UAB, and Magdalena Echecopar, member of Perú Champs, held a business meeting which objective was to analyze collaboration options between both entities for developing cooperation projects altogether in Peru. Among them, it was highlighted the possibility for EDO-UAB to develop studies about the impact that the project is having on the area, as well as activities of counselling related to preferable work lines in EDO-UAB that match with the goals of Perú Champs.

Perú Champs is a civil non-profit association that gives the opportunity to connect donors with children with scant resources but with a great academic, artistic and sportive potential in order to get on an education excellence. Through these donations that seek for enhancing a child’s life, the organization funds 75% of studies costs of Champ during a school year. This grant renews itself automatically if Champ fulfil certain conditions. Additionally to the grant’s program, Perú Champs has developed a leadership program where during their schooltimes it gives them help with the objective of developing value-based education in order to be an agent of change in society in the future. Esta beca se renueva automáticamente siempre y cuando el Champ cumpla con ciertos requisitos.

This proposal of Perú Champs coincides with projects already deployed in Latin America by EDO group, such as AECID-Chile e IDEAS-Costa Rica, whose goals have been to equip educational institutions with resources and tools needed to become in real enhancers of socio-community development in their environment.
