From 6th to 10th September 2021, the congress "ECER 2021: Education and society: expectations, proposals, agreements" will be held online.

On September 9, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, our colleagues from the Orienta4Yel project will present a symposium based on the first results obtained throughout the development of the project. The development of this symposium is based on the following structure:

  • Understand the risks of early school leaving. Explore risk and support factors in Europe.
  • Analytical framework to explore the risk and support factors for early school leaving: a comparative analysis between Spain and England.
  • Structural factors as risk for premature abandonment of Portuguese professional courses: the case of the Leiria region.
  • When prevention is not enough: management of early school leaving.
  • Concepts for dealing with youth at risk of dropping out of school or training early. German experiences.

ECER 2021 proposes to investigate the tensions between the broad social, political and economic demands imposed on education systems and the realities of daily engagement with learners and those connected to them at all stages of the educational continuum. Addressing this dichotomy between the sometimes conflicting prescriptions, mandates, and demands imposed on education systems and the needs of individual students and learning communities has been critical to much of the educational research and reconciliation process. of the often contradictory demands that arise will be central to much educational research. at the heart of this conference.

During ECER 2021, the 32 EERA networks and the group of emerging researchers will participate and explore the various facets of the tensions experienced during the first decades of the 21st century in educational settings.
