On October 5 and 7, the online course "Evaluation strategies and tools for learning" was held.

This course, with a duration of 4 hours, focused especially on working on different strategies and assessment tools that favor the competence development of students, their lifelong learning, and the development of self-regulation of their training process. With a strong emphasis on assessment strategies where students have an active role, through their involvement in self-assessment, peer assessment or feedback processes.

Its objectives were to analyze different competency assessment strategies, develop assessment strategies and tools adapted to different training scenarios and adapt different assessment tools and instruments in online environments. Thus, its content consisted of:

  • Conceptual boundaries: evaluation, peer evaluation, self-evaluation, learning evaluation, sustainable feedback, peer feedback, self-regulation of learning, etc.
  • conditions for a formative and learning assessment,
  • assessment strategies and tools for learning,
  • Proposals for the adaptation of different tools and face-to-face assessment tests to online formats

The course, taught by Georgeta Ion and Cristina Mercader, was developed through a theoretical-practical presentation. The methodology was proposed as a reflective and practical interaction between the participants. It included brief theoretical interventions to consolidate the basic concepts of the session followed by practical activities. They also worked on concrete examples of evaluation and self-evaluation tools, with a debate on their potentialities and limitations.
