Leadership of teaching for learning

Denise Vaillant, a professor at ORT University of Uruguay and collaborator of some of the EDO projects, has coordinated the monograph " Leadership of teaching for Learning" in No. 47 / 2 of the EDUCAR Journal which was published this January.
No. 47 / 2 of EDUCAR has been coordinated by Denise Vaillant and is about Leadership of teaching for learning from a broad perspective that includes the perspective of university professors from Argentina, Chile, Spain and Uruguay.
In presentation of this monograph Vaillant particularly highlights the importance of rethinking teachers´ training so that it is oriented towards the development of skills and competencies to perform a learning-centered leadership of students. In this case, he states that one of the greatest difficulties is that the leadership of teaching is not part of the current offer of initial and continuing training.
This issue of EDUCAR aims to contribute to the reconsideration of the instructional leadership, which has become a priority for educational leaders, researchers, teachers and professors. It wants to get some works that encourage debate and provide support to the reflection of those who are interested in this area. According to the coordinator, the monograph is a call to multiply the research and discussion to help identify practices of leadership which have more influence on the ability to learn and inspire children and young people.
