Kick-off meeting

EDO-UAB members and CEJFE members (Centre of Legal Studies and Specialized Training) participated in the kick off meeting for the project “Mapping knowledge creation and management good practices in the framework of Catalan Public Administration”, funded by the School of Public Administration with a 10.000€ budget.

The project entitled “Mapping knowledge creation and management good practices in the framework of Catalan Public Administration” aims to analyze the current condition of knowledge management in the Public Administration with the purpose of producing a map that allows managers and administrators to design joint strategies to integrate all experiences and practices that are being carried out right now. Moreover, the project will analyze the performance of the best practices identified, in order to know those elements that guarantee its success and to elaborate specific action proposals to improve the current ones. Also, the project will collect specific data from those management departments, areas or services that do not have knowledge management processes, thus, allowing in future studies to analyze the reasons and proposing strategies to facilitate participation of professionals in these activities.

In conclusion, the project will provide evidence on the current situation of knowledge management of the Public Administration in order to improve efficiency by creating an integrated system that facilitates the development of joint strategies, respecting the idiosyncrasy and the functioning of existing practices.

Applied products to be obtained at the end of the project are:

- A report on current knowledge management in the Catalan Public Administration.
- A map and description of good practices in knowledge management.
- A bank of strategies for integrating existing practices in an overall action plan of the Catalan Public Administration.
- A list of specific proposals of participation in processes of knowledge creation and management addressed to Administration professionals.
