Invent Culture coordination meeting
From May 5th to 7th, a follow-up meeting of the Invent Culture project with all the partners took place in Zurich.
Pilar López has participated on behalf of the UAB in this meeting, where López has presented the progress of the activities carried out by the UAB, specifically with the analysis of several practical cases of successful cultural policies in Catalonia and Spain.
The meeting has served to carry out a review of all the activities carried out to date, as well as to make decisions regarding the actions to be undertaken in the coming months. Among them, the experiment with smartphones and Data Scraping on cultural events with an impact at European level stands out.
The EU-funded INVENT project analyzes the possible influence that globalization, European integration, migratory waves, the digital revolution and the increase in social inequalities have on European citizens. The project aims to create new methodologies for understanding the value of culture in European societies. In this sense, it investigates the social and cultural premises for the successful implementation of the New European Agenda for Culture. It also identifies how culture supports identity, tolerance, belonging, and social cohesion.
