On 14th of April, a follow-up HEIDA meeting took place in Slovenia, as well as a seminar to discuss about the results obtained.

Georgeta Ion and Xavier Biarnes, EDO-UAB member and collaborator respectively, have participated in the follow-up meeting of HEIDA project “Data driven decision making for internationalization of higher education” on 14th of April in Slovenia, and an open seminar to the community to discuss about using an specific tool to share data, which was used in the project. Both activities contributes to achieve the two main objectives of the project: (1) create awareness and train senior management, academics and administrative personnel so that they understand the value of internationalization, using data for overall improvement; and (2) design, validate and implement a tool/platform that can be employed to internationalise IES activities, creating an accessible and user-friendly space that contributes to understanding institutional improvement through interconnecting activities and internationalising at a European level.

The open seminar, addressed to the key-actors in HE such as vice-deans, academics, administrative staff from international office; and agencies, organizations and public bodies, helped to present and discuss about information management tools. Hereafter, the session helped to work all together with the attendants some aspects related to three key elements for the project: (a) strengths and weaknesses of internationalization data collection practices in their institutions; (b) what would an effective training programme be like for academics, administrative staff and decision makers; and (c) strategies to enhance the use of data for decision making at institutional and programme/department/faculty level.
