First meeting of the ORACLE project

ORACLE participants attend the first meeting of the project, which will take place in Sao Paulo on the 8th, 9th and 10th of March.
During the days 8,9 and 10 will be held the first meeting to formally initiate the project Regional Observatory for Quality and Higher Education in Latin America. This first meeting will take place in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. It’s organized locally by the Paulista State University (UNESP), in cooperation with the EDO group collaboration, of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
ORACLE, funded under the Erasmus + Capacity Building of the European Commission, is coordinated by professors at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Joaquín Gairín and Diego Castro, and joins forces with the participation of more than 160 researchers belonging to 35 universities, 30 of which belong to 15 countries in Latin America and five in Europe.

The meeting will serve as the first contact between the project partners and aims to lay the foundations to promote the project forward. Therefore, the meeting will focus on two key themes: the internal management of the project (interpersonal relations, responsibilities, administrative issues, commitments WP,-CDI- distributed control, etc.) and preparation of the institutional observatories (previous experiences, formation and discussion on how it has to be and work, etc.)
Among the most important Oracle goals are highlighted the will to generate models to assess the university quality linking it to the equity in access, development and success of all those involved, and encourage the organizational development and modernization of universities in the region.
