Eighth CoP session in Knowledge Management

On October 17th, the eighth session of the Community of Practice on Creation and Knowledge Management took place. This new session was directed by the Documentation Department of the Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation in TV3 studios. The CGP CoP covers public and private organizations in the Catalan area and is jointly promoted by Neos and the EDO Group.

This department has a lot of experience in transforming information into value for its professionals and they offered us the opportunity to learn about the experience of the CCMA and understand how an overwhelming amount of information is treated to facilitate the task of journalists and structure and activate the knowledge of the organization. Currently, most organizations have a supersaturation of documents, not always updated and often forgotten and difficult to locate.

The heads of the Documentation Department of the CCMA told us about aspects such as the needs of the users of the CCMA document base, types of documents and contents, selection, prioritization and updating, archiving and search criteria, available technology and processes, adaptation to the new needs of diffusion and use (web, radio, television, social networks), innovative initiatives for collaboration and knowledge generation.
