Doctorate Awards

The next Friday, 18^th of November, it will be held the "II Ceremony for the award of doctoral degrees and extraordinary doctoral awards", at the Campus Hotel of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

In this edition, Dr. Iglesias-Vidal will receive the extraordinary Doctorate in Education award for the academic year 2013/2014 for his thesis entitled "Intercultural education in leisure education organizations and community-based." Proposals to strengthen the intercultural dimension from the educational action ", and which was co-directed by Dr. Miquel Àngel Essomba Gelabert and Dr. Joaquín Gairín Sallán. In this work Dr. Iglesias emphasized the importance of promoting formative processes in interculturality according to some specific contents that incorporate gender, the different visions of the interculturality or tools for the promotion of measures of attention to diversity.

At the same time, Dr. Diaz-Vicario will receive the extraordinary Doctorate in Education award of the academic year 2014/2015 for her thesis titled "The Management of Integral Security in Schools: Facilitators and Obstacles", which was directed by Dr. Joaquín Gairín Sallán. In her work, Dr. Díaz-Vicario provides a close-up image of the management of the integral security of Catalan schools, and presents a proposal for a comprehensive security management model in schools.

The Ceremony is an activity organized by the School of Doctorate, together with Alumni UAB, and it aims to put in value the human capital generated by the UAB, highlighting the new doctors as an indispensable element to continue in the research lines of excellence. Excellence that is based on the quality of the doctorate as a distinctive indicator. In addition, with the Ceremony for the award of doctoral and doctoral degrees and extraordinary doctoral awards, which will be held twice a year, UAB wants to put in value the effort and dedication of the young researchers and their contribution to the generation of knowledge.
