Chilean Delegation Visit

A Chilean delegation, compounded by councilors and municipal technicians, visits Catalonia to learn about sustainable development.
Last Friday March the 4th, a delegation of councilors and municipal technicians from Chile visited Catalonia with the purpose of to go deep in management systems of a sustainable municipality. Thereon, and under the coordination of EDO-Serveis, the group visited the Town Hall of Sant Cugat del Vallès where Damià Calvet, Deputy Mayor and Councilor of Urbanism, Mobility and Accommodation, Ignasi Bonet, assistant director of innovation and technology, and Esther Salat, Councilor of Education, University and family, presented the most remarkable aspects of the demographic growth that has happened in our country, especially in Sant Cugat del Vallès.
The visit help them to know about how technology has been incorporated in different services of the city, and, especially, how the intensive use of it has allow to change the concept of Smart City to Innovative City, allowing direct participation of citizens in the decision-making about the aspects that affect the urbanistic and social development of their neighborhoods. The day was complemented by a visit to the center control of illumination, pylon control, communication control and citizen security control. Once the visit was finished, the group went to Amsterdam, their last stop of their visitation where they have shared experiences between local administrations from Madrid and Catalonia.
This activity is contextualized in the actions of development and cooperation in the framework of EDO-SERVEIS. In this case, this collaboration has been development altogether with the direction of cooperation with Iberoamerica from the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares.
