Academic stay

Cristina Pérez Maldonado, a PhD candidate and member of the EDO-UAB research team, has recently started a three-month pre-doctoral stay at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (Portugal). This academic internship will be under the supervision of the Professor and Vice President of the Institute (IPL), Rita Cadima, and Dr. Miguel Jerónimo, Administrator of Social Services and expert on issues related to equality of opportunities for students in the access and success to Higher Education studies in Portugal.

Among the main objectives to be carried out, the following stand out: to work on the development of the doctoral thesis "Barriers and facilitators perceived by students that access university through non-traditional paths: multiple case study" and to make contact with experts and academics of the IPL to get to know the reality of the access policies to Portuguese universities. Also, this internship means an opportunity to strengthen the continuous collaboration between the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria and the EDO Research Group of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
