The use of research evidence by teachers and educators is currently experiencing global interest in both policy and practice, with many governments now promoting the importance of research-informed improvement efforts. However, despite the known benefits, the consistent and regular use of evidence to enhance educational practice remains difficult to achieve in reality. We interviewed Dr.
Chris Brown, Professor and Vice Dean of Research at the Faculty of Social and Health Sciences at Durham University, and a renowned international expert in analyzing how research evidence can be used to support the development of educational policy and practice. He recently co-edited, along with Joel R. Malin, The Emerald Handbook of Evidence-Informed Practice in Education: Learning from International Contexts, where he examines the consistency of evidence-based practice across various educational systems and at a global level.
