Initial teacher training by competences represents a training approach that Chilean universities have established in order to structure the curricular framework of their degrees. This approach presents a non-disciplinary design and it is therefore more oriented towards professional performance. The present study aims to identify the perceived level of development of three specific competences (corporeality competence, planning and use of technology) during the Practicum of the initial university training of the physical education course, by school tutors, university tutors and students, in a Chilean university in 2020. In a case study and through the administration of a questionnaire, the results show sensitive levels of development in the three competences analyzed, although they are developed differently according to the typology of the Practicum. This study confirms that the Practicum is decisive for the development of competences according to its participants.
