The competence of learning to learn (in spanish aprender a aprender, AaA) is related to the ability to initiate, organize, and plan one’s own learning autonomously. In order to measure the progress of the level of mastery of the components of the AaA competence in its socio-relational dimension, the responses of 1320 students from the first cycle of Compulsory Secondary Education from 14 innovative educational centers in the Autonomous Communities (CC.AA.) were subjected to quantitative analysis through a questionnaire applied in two phases (PRE and POST). The results indicate that students involved in interdisciplinary work proposals improve in AaA components related to autonomy, self-management, resources used in the learning process, the commitment involved in group work, evaluation, and motivation/interest; identifying significant differences, based on gender and academic year, in the perception of the level of mastery of the analyzed “group work” components. The generalized improvement of these AaA competence indicators, while key to its progress, requires continued focus on the “group work” components due to their relevance in the construction of one’s own learning and, therefore, in the development of the AaA competence.
