This contribution examines the factors affecting university access for students entering through vocational training and/or entrance exams for individuals over 25, as well as their perceptions of university. The methodology is mixed in nature, and this paper presents results drawn from interviews with students at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The findings reaffirm the importance of economic barriers and identify new ones, such as self-perceived ability. The study concludes by highlighting the significance of these pathways as a second chance.
