XI International Congress of the Organization of Educational Institutions (CIOIE)

Date of the scientific meeting: 15/12/2010

On December 15, 16 and 17, the XI International Congress on the Organization of Educational Institutions (CIOIE 2010) will take place in Cuenca.

The International University Congress of the Organization of Educational Institutions is an academic activity that, since 1990, has brought together, on a biannual basis, the teaching and research group of universities linked to the field of knowledge of educational organizations. This forum also brings together teachers from non-university levels and professionals in the direction, management and supervision of the technical units of educational administrations and non-formal institutions, thus strengthening the commitment of the organizations to the territories and to the idea of lifelong learning.

In 2010, the meeting will take place on the university campus of Conca, a World Heritage city, under the motto Organize and direct in complexity: educational institutions in evolution.

The motto of the Congress tries to highlight that, in a complex world, diversity multiplies and that educational institutions and forms of management must consider new aspects and values such as equity, flexibility, permanent improvement, respect for interculturality and adaptation to the knowledge society, among others. Through this motto, it is about, on the one hand, highlighting that organizations work in a scenario full of changes that come at the same time accompanied by social, political and technological facts that affect their normal development and, on the other hand, that they are precisely these facts are the ones that lead to new organizational architectures, other visions of their management and leadership, other ways of projecting themselves socially in the contexts in which they work, and which, ultimately, force them to be in constant evolution.

The following symposia will be presented by EDO:

  • Symposium: Access and permanence at university. Organizational implications
  • Symposium: The creation and management of knowledge in training institutions
