The International Congress “University and Vulnerable Groups” is held as the conclusion of the activities of the ACCEDES project “The access and academic success of vulnerable groups in risk environments in Latin America”.
The intent of this event is to bring together academic as many authorities, teachers, researchers and graduate students interested in educational inclusion of those groups that have historically disadvantaged result in obtaining a college degree.
There are various populations and practices that institutions have made to abate discrimination and segregation; since this forum is to share insights, best practices and strategies that provide the opportunity to incorporate new practices and improvement plans to promote reform in institutional policies, processes of learning, but above all, improved university education quality contributing to successful integration and equity from more flexible and adaptable, able to take into account the different needs of groups that comprise systems.
The specific objectives of the Congress are:
- Raising awareness of the difficulties of the globalization of higher education for vulnerable individuals and groups.
- Discuss the strategies, actions, programs and policies that promote academic success for vulnerable groups in institutions of higher education.
- Strengthen lines of work and commitments HEIs to improve the situation of vulnerable individuals and groups.
- Disseminate and contrast the achievements of the Project ACCEDES.
