The session will be held at the headquarters of CTA (Corporació Tecnológica d’Andalusia) where the partners of the consortium will evaluate the progress and upcoming activities of this project, six months after its launch.
In addition, CTA will organize a co-creation workshop the following day, which will be attended by members of the consortium and the working group. In total, 30 experts from European entities linked to the bioeconomy sector will propose and evaluate the best practices to attract students, unemployed and professionals to the bioindustry.
According to the most recent estimates from the European Commission (EC), the European bioeconomy employs more than 18 million people and generates €2.3 billion in turnover. This sector is in full growth and requires a high number of experts with a new profile that involves several academic disciplines. However, one of the challenges for its development is the educational gap between the professional profiles required by the sector and the existing educational offer.
In UrBIOfuture we are carrying out an analysis of this educational gap to propose a training program aligned with the needs of the industry.
Additionally, we intend to develop a series of activities and events aimed at students, the unemployed and professionals to inform them about the demand that the sector will require in the coming years.
