The aim of this meeting, in which Cristina Mercader and Aleix Barrera participate, is to monitor all the activities that have been done so far and plan the next tasks to ensure compliance with the objectives of the project in time.
BIObec proposes a framework that fuses the traditional idea of a training center with a node of knowledge. The project will establish biologically based training centers (BBECs) of various levels to act as knowledge nodes that reduce the gaps between academic institutions, students, innovation entities and those responsible for policy formulation. Likewise, BBECs are expected to be flexible enough to respond to the current and future needs of the industry and the surrounding local, regional and national ecosystem.
From CRiEDO we have coordinated the development of a study at European level that identifies the needs, expectations and opportunities for the creation of BBEc (Bio Education Centers) at European level. In this line, during the meeting the main results of the study were presented. In addition, the general guidelines that will guide the definition of the governance plans of the BBEC centers have been introduced.
