This interuniversity cooperation and scientific research project (PCI) is subsidised by the AECID in the Integrated Action section (D/12227/07) and is led by members of the EDO (Organisational Development Team) of the Department of Applied Pedagogy at the UAB. PCIs are programmes for scientific collaboration that are established between higher education institutions in Spain and the Ibero-American countries. In this case the participants are the UAB and the University ORT Montevideo (Uruguay).
The initiative is carried out within the context of the existing international relations between the UAB (Department of Applied Pedagogy) and the University ORT Montevideo in Uruguay (Institute of Education), that have been established to date in the participation of teaching staff from both institutions in training activities and knowledge transfer, in the participation in the Master’s degree in educational management and the presence in the UAB of people in Uruguay on postgraduate programmes.
The aim of this project is to create a support network for the management of Ibero-American centres that serves as a reference and acts as support for university institutions in the whole of Latin America.
More specifically, the following have been identified as objectives:
- Identify and implement research lines that are relevant to both groups and the Latin American context.
- Promote joint scientific publications of high impact written by members of research groups in both institutions.
- Defining free vocational training courses (conferences, training cycles, Ateneos, etc.) destined to managers of educational systems and centres.
- Planning and implementing online and class-based academic exchanges coordinated by both work groups, aimed at making educational management in Latin America more dynamic.
