Kick off meeting “emPOWERing the informal”

On April 1st, 2nd and 3rd, the initial meeting of the "emPOWERing the informal" project took place.

The first meeting of the "emPOWERing the informal" project was held on the first days of April, the objective of which is to advance the knowledge of informal youth groups and to propose tools that can be better managed. The sessions focused on the introduction and presentation of the project and the participants, the operation and objectives of the project, as well as devoted to: organizing and establishing the basis of the strategic partnership among the partners, planning the first activities, its responsibilities, online and offline instruments for management and planning, documents and collaboration agreements, and the future steps that will be given by the project.

"EmPOWERing the informal" is in the direct line of European priorities and objectives to bring positive and lasting effects to the organizations associated to the policy of systems that establish the framework for the creation and management of informal youth groups. Its main objective is to strengthen the link between the public and the associated fields, placing informal groups as a central actor in the process of building sustainable communities, developing skills and attitudes towards young people.

Georgeta Ion (Group EDO - UAB) presented the strategy for the development of work package 1 (coordinated in its entirety by the UAB), whose objective is to identify the characteristics that define the groups of informal youth in the different contexts of the Project partners, as well as the characteristics of these groups in terms of leadership and management forms, as well as the difficulties they may encounter in developing their activities and interacting with the administration.

The project, with participation of eight organizations (UAB, FITT, Experimentaculo, Green European Foundation, Cascais Municipal Chamber, Subjective Values ​​Foundation, Association for participation, opportunity and development, Timisoara Municipality), is coordinated by Mihai Vilcea (FITT, Romania ) and financed by the European Union in the framework of the Erasmus program with € 246,284.00 - € 23,375.00 €.
