Co-teaching is a practice that has gradually been introduced in classrooms, promoting more inclusive methodological modalities. This leads us to investigate the profile and characteristics that co-teachers should possess. The literature review is limited in this regard, and therefore it is necessary to delve into this topic. This article identifies the characteristics of co-teachers. The research analyzes, through an exploratory qualitative methodology, the experience of teachers and management teams from two primary schools in the province of Barcelona, contrasting it with the opinion of two experts in co-teaching. The results present a compendium of ten teaching characteristics that should be considered when using co-teaching. The conclusions indicate that it is advisable to have an appropriate teacher profile and to try to establish compatible pairs, as the success of the experience largely depends on this. The study aims to be a guide for teachers who want to start with this methodology and for management teams that need to manage its organization in educational centers.
