A research study has made it possible to holistically examine the informal learning about teaching undertaken by novice university faculty at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In this regard, the study analyzed how early-career university teachers learn to teach, identifying which teaching competencies they have developed through informal learning, the pathways through which this learning has occurred, and how the university organization has influenced this process.
