My name is Laia Meschede, and I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education with a specialization in Specific Educational Needs from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). I subsequently completed a Master’s Degree in School Leadership for Educational Innovation at the same university (UAB).
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Education at UAB, with the aim of analysing organisational and management processes in educational institutions, specifically instituts escola in Catalonia, within the context of transformations oriented towards innovation, inclusion, sustainability, and institutional improvement.
Regarding my professional experience, over the past ten years I have worked as a teacher across different specialisations. I began my career as a tutor in an early childhood education centre, followed by a period working as a special education teacher. I later became a member of the teaching staff of an institut escola, where I worked as a tutor in early childhood and primary education and as an English as a foreign language teacher. Currently, and for the past four academic years, I have held the position of Head of Studies at Institut Escola Catalunya in Sant Cugat del Vallès.
